91 Points Vinous: "The 2021 Chardonnay (Santa Barbara County) is a terrific introduction to the year and this range. Tropical and floral accents lend nuance to a bright, sculpted Chardonnay that captures the truest essence of Santa Barbara. Dollops of Viognier and Grenache Blanc perk things up nicely. Best of all, the 2021 is a superb value. There’s a lot to like in this range from Fess Parker. The entry-level wines offer superb quality and value, while at the upper end readers will find reliably consistent wines that capture the essence of site. Just as importantly, winemaker Blair Fox has given this range an added level of finesse over these last few years that is impossible to miss, and he has done that throughout all the Fess Parker labels, no small feat considering the large number of wines now under his purview." (6/2022)

91 Points from Wine & Spirits Magazine: "This stylish chardonnay is about half estate-grown, the balance from leased sources including Los Alamos and Bien Nacido vineyards. It starts out with a cinnamon note of oak that recedes into the background quickly, revealing bright, leesy, apple-scented flavors. Creamy in the middle, firm and lively in the end, this isn’t wildly complex, just balanced and delicious." (10/22)

91 Points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "A great entry-level expression for the veteran winery, this bottling begins with clean aromas of white peach, gardenia and woody potpourri on the nose. The palate clings with a textural edge, allowing lemon-blossom flavors to shine." (10/1/22)

From Jeb Dunnuck: "The appellation Chardonnay, the 2021 Chardonnay Santa Barbara County is a good value, offering a plump, medium-bodied, peach, and floral style that stays balanced and clean. It's ideal for drinking over the coming couple of years. As with everything here, it's well-made." (8/29/22)
