92 Points from Wine Spectator: "The black cherry reduction and raspberry tart flavors are nicely polished, with black tea, herb and spice undertones leading to a long, supple finish that offers bitter chocolate and mineral details. Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. Drink now through 2025. 1,500 cases made, 400 cases imported." (10/15/2019)

92 Points from Decanter Magazine: "Richly scented nose, heady and inviting. Violet-tinged red cherry notes on the nose alongside blackcurrants and blueberries. The texture immediately stands-out, fine but gripping tannins coat the mouth and give a mineral, almost iron-touched taste to the mouth. Ripe red and black fruits abound with a good dose of acidity driving the flavours all the way through to the end. The finish is long and offers a cooling, menthol, liquorice taste. Full of terroir elements that give this wine a true sense of place. A blend of old-vine Grenache (around 50-60% depending on the vintage), Syrah and Mourvèdre with a touch of Carignan." (10/10/2020)

90 Points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Like virtually all of the wines from individual Gerard Bertrand estates, the 2017 Terrasses du Larzac Chateau la Sauvageonne Grand Vin is certified biodynamic. A blend of 60% Syrah, 27% Grenache, 7% Mourvèdre and 6% Carignan, all aged in barriques for a year, it offers up relatively subdued aromas of blueberries, plum and peppery spice. It's full-bodied and even a bit chocolaty on the palate, with ample concentration and rich, ripe (some might argue overripe) fruit.
Rugby star-turned-winemaker Gérard Bertrand boasts an impressive portfolio of Languedoc wine estates and has made it his mission to raise the profile of this oft-overlooked wine region. Ripeness, intensity and oak all figure prominently in the Bertrand style but so does organic and biodynamic farming." (6/30/20)
