It enjoys a warm southwest exposure on blue clay with Alberese schist. Dusty, dark and brooding on the nose, the 2018 hints at liquorice, leather and black cherry. The palate is sweeter and friendlier, with macerated berries and cinnamon enveloped in plush, layered tannins. Easygoing yet lively acidity gives a boost. Ageing is in a combination of concrete vats, French oak barrels, and Slavonian oak casks." (3/26/2021)
