2007 E.Guigal Chateauneuf Du Pape Rouge
93 Points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest Chateauneuf du Papes made from this Iconic estate is easily the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape. Checking in as a blend of 80% old vine Grenache, 10% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre and other permitted varieties, it offers full-bodied, Provencal, incredibly perfumed notes of lavender, garrigue, bloody meat, licorice and sweet Grenache fruit. Pure, polished and layered on the palate, with ultra fine tannin, it's drinking at point today yet has another decade or more of life." (3/1/2017)
92 Points Vinous: "Bright ruby-red. Vibrant red and dark berry scents are complemented by notes of garrigue, woodsmoke and dark chocolate. Rich and expansive but energetic as well, offering sweet blackberry and cherry compote flavors and a touch of licorice. Shows the heft of the vintage but comes off as lively on the long, spicy, smoky finish." (1/2014)
91 Points from Wine Spectator: "Aromatic cedar and mesquite notes lead the way, with fleshy steeped plum, red currant and blackberry fruit at the core. Shows nice integration through the finish, where bay, ganache and espresso accents fill in. Drink now through 2024. 3,000 cases imported." (10/15/2013)
