2019 Brendel "Noble One" Napa Valley Chardonnay
92 Points from Wine & Spirits Magazine: "This is a new winery launched by the team at Heitz, led by Carlton McCoy, Jr., whose background as a sommelier took this chardonnay in a fresh, savory direction. The wine is made by Brittany Sherwood, who sources fruit from Oak Knoll and Carneros; she ferments it in stainless steel, where it rests on the lees for a year. It sees no oak and only occasional lees stirring, presenting the fennel and anise flavors of the grape at center stage. A pale white with appealing freshness, this would be delicious with slow-roasted pork shoulder." (6/22)
90 Points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "Given eight months in stainless steel, this light, bright white presents as clean and linear. It has focused acidity and flavors of anise, lavender and fig newton." (12/31/22)
From Wine Spectator: "Fresh, with crunchy acidity to the white fruit and spice flavors that are lithe and structured. Ends with hints of bay leaf on the finish, with ginger and sea salt nuances. Drink now through 2023. 2,800 cases made." (Web Only-2021)
