92 points Vinous: " Pale yellow. Smoke- and spice-accented aromas of orange, pear skin, melon and succulent flowers. Shows very good energy and focus on the palate, offering vibrant citrus and orchard fruit, honeysuckle and vanilla flavors and a touch of mintiness. Closes on a spicy note, with sharp focus, very good length and repeating florality.

If any winery can claim to be a pioneer of Monterey County, it’s Talbott, which was established in 1982, in Carmel. Seemingly overnight, Talbott set a new standard for California, indeed, American Chardonnay. Talbott’s impact on the world’s view of the variety from the Golden State was altered, unlike anything seen since Chalone Vineyards arrived on the scene in 1972." (5/2022)

91 Points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "Light lemon rind and wet slate aromas meet with an almond cream note on the nose of this bottling. It's tense and citrus-driven on the palate, with a light brush of buttery warmth on the finish." (3/1/22)

90 Points from Wine Spectator: "Strikes a terrific balance between toast, spice and cardamom notes, with fresh, plump apricot and peach flavors that are smooth and round on a full body. Drink now. 1,400 cases made." (7/31/22)

From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Chardonnay Sleepy Hollow Vineyard has very delicate scents of apricot, nuts and acacia. The medium-bodied palate offers fuller, ripe fruit, a creamy texture, juicy acidity and a gently floral finish." (12/30/22)
