2021 Domaine Petit et Fille Pouilly Fume

Right across the river from Sancerre, Pouilly Fume somehow has been left behind. Maybe they don't have a good marketing team or something but like Sancerre the wines are 100% Sauvignon Blanc, grown on the same soil types, with the addition of Silex (gun flint) hence the name "Fume" (smoke). While everyone is going bonkers for Sancerre currently and the prices have gone through the roof Pouilly Fume has been quietly making wines that the masses will love but have been ignoring for the last decade or so. 

So finding this Petit et Fille bottling for under $20 was a big deal for us. We could tell the story, turn people on to something they were going love from the jump and look like geniuses. (Sure, that last one may be a bit much, but, maybe?) Sprightly, energetic and riding a fine line between lemon and lime all encapsulated in that rocky Loire goodness this is a treat for Sancerre lovers. Or people that just like acid driven whites.
