Ok. This wine maybe a bit self indulgent but bear with me. In my world sometimes you got to buy what sells, sometimes you have to buy what is gonna make you money and sometimes you gotta buy something that you know may not do either of those things because it resonates somehow with you. This is firmly in the latter, but damn if I'm not gonna try to make it resonate with others.

Here is why I love this wine.

1-Age. People don't realize that Riesling can age forever. The mix of huge acid levels and varying sugar levels are perfect natural preservatives. So you may look at this and say no way this is still good. My friend, it is just getting started

2-Place. Trittenheim Apotheke. The village of Trittenheim and the Apotheke Vineyard. Legendary location in the Mosel and a place I was lucky enough to stay at on my trip to Germany in 2007. A tiny village with a vineyard that is world renowned on a hill that is way too steep to ever think you can make wine from this vineyard that dates back to the Roman era has been thought for literal centuries to have medicinal powers. No joke, hence the Apotheke (Apothecary) name. Oh and if that is not enough the vineyard is just a pile of pure blue slate.

3-Power. Maybe some don't think of something like Riesling having power, they leave that to big Cab, or Zin or whatever but Riesling has real power. Power that comes from the inside, not what someone did to it outside in the wine making process. This has that. POWER. Taste it and tell me you're not overwhelmed by the sheer flavor bomb of it all. Stone fruit, honey, cleansing acid, evolving flavors on every taste, layers of complexity with every sip.

Maybe it's not your jam, maybe it's just too sweet. I get it. But I think if you can get past that possible preconception and just taste this in a real, honest way, you may just find that you love it as much as I do too. (Bryan, GTO)
