2018 Borgo Conventi Collio Sauvignon
92 Points and an Editors' Choice from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "Enticing aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, hay and crushed tomato vine leap out of the glass in this fragrant, inviting white. The savory, racy palate delivers juicy white grapefruit, white peach and grilled herb alongside crisp acidity. Lemon drop candy and tangy oyster shell notes linger on the close." (10/1/20)
91 Points from Vinous: "The highly-expressive 2018 Sauvignon wafts up an exotic display of tropical papaya and kiwi offset by sweet florals and spice. Silky, pliant yet packed with stimulating acidity, it coats all that it touches in ripe orchard fruits just as a wave of refreshing sour citrus resets the senses. You can feel the wine’s structure through the close, as it folds in on itself, leaving salty minerals and a hint of yellow apple behind." (10/2020)
From Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an interesting and offbeat expression of Sauvignon Blanc with eucalyptus oil, preserved lemon and some exotic tones of dried papaya or apple chip. Made in stainless steel vats, the Borgo Conventi 2018 Collio Sauvignon walks away from some of the super zesty and lifted aromas that are characteristic of this aromatic grape and instead embraces a warm, slightly creamier style. Some 40,000 bottles were made." (2/11/21)
