2018 Planeta "La Segreta" Sicilia Rosso

Oh boy, here we go. This "basic" little Sicilian red from the venerable Planeta is really something right now. The kids may say, "It SLAPS". (That means it is really good!) An odd blend of Nero d'Avola, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc some may think this is just a generic, "internationally styled" red blend with little personality. They would be wrong. This sings of the plucky wines of Sicily with its bold flavors and undeniable charm. Lush and energetic with resonate raspberry, black tea and sage flavors and a smoothed out feel from front to back this is just silly for under $10 a bottle. (Bryan, GTO)
