2024 Skylark "Pink Belly" Mendocino County Rose

From a pair of our favorite sommeliers John Lancaster and Robert Perkins, both of Boulevard SF fame, this brand is way under the radar but has been sneaking out killer Rhone varietal based wines for somewhere around a decade and a half now. This 100% Grenache based bottling, devoid of oak, or anything else that would tamper the tart, tangy, Rainier cherry fruit and the finishing white pepper lace is pure joy on a nice sunny day with friends/family. From Jeb Dunnuck: "All Grenache, the 2024 Pink Belly Rose shows a medium salmon, Bandol-like color and offers citrus and orange notes with a kiss of minerality. It's medium-bodied, with bright acidity and a clean finish, making for a delicious rosé that will shine on the dinner table. It was aged six months in stainless steel. Drink 2025-2027." (8/7/25)
