Dieu du Ciel! "Blanche du Paradis" Witbier, Quebec (16oz Can)

Admittedly Witbier is not one of my personal favorite styles of beer. All to often the beers these days are cloyingly sweet yeast bombs that just come off feeling syrupy or at times synthetic. I'm looking at you Blue Moon. So when one make me take notice, it feels all the more special. It makes sense that Dieu du Ciel! would make one that would flat out impress as they continuously have made outstanding beers since 1998. 

Lifted with aromas of citrus oil and warm spices on the nose this is right in the pocket for any Witbier fan but where it really shines, and departs from the masses is its transparency on the palate. Nothing heavy or overbearing here, nothing that keeps adding texture to any already, sneaky, rich style. Just airy, fluffy orange peel flavors over a subtle yeast driven character. Plus this would make a great base for a pot of Moules Frites! (Bryan, GTO)
