94 Points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I always enjoy reviewing new vintages of this wine, and I think it is the only time I taste the little-known Roscetto grape during the course of my work year. The Famiglia Cotarella 2019 Ferentano Cotarella makes good use of this indigenous variety to show the potential found within Italy's vast genetic patrimony. This expression from 2019 is the best I have tasted so far. The wine shows beautiful clarity and density with a slightly off-gold appearance. With apricot, chopped nut and savory herb, it covers the palate in a steady and complete manner. Compared to the 2018 vintage that I tasted at the same time, this wine from 2019 offers even more depth and richness." (5/4/23)

90 Points Vinous: "The 2019 Ferentano, a varietal Roscetto (also known as Trebbiano Giallo), is a deep golden color in the glass. Its rich bouquet mixes musky dried peaches with raw almond and dusty yellow florals. This is silky and elegant in feel, with potent orchard fruits that give way to a salty staining of minerality and a vanilla tinge toward the finale. This finishes incredibly fresh with a nuance of lemony custard. The Ferentano is fermented and aged in second-pass barrique, which gives it a distinctive richness, yet the integration is done quite well." (%/2023)

90 Points from Wine Spectator: "A well-oaked, toasty version, with hints of roasted nuts and smoke underscoring flavors of poached apricot and lemon gelée. Medium-bodied and lightly chalky in texture, with a tangy streak of salinity and firm, integrated acidity keeping this focused and fresh. Drink now through 2027. 630 cases imported." (1/15/24)

90 Points from Wine Enthusiast Magazine: "The nose is like a cheese plate with warm Brie accompanied by honey, nuts and a slice of lemon. The lush palate amplifies those aromas, with citrus carrying the day and salty, stony undertones. Acidity carries through a substantial finish." (11/1/23)
